Aims and scope
We aim to provide experienced, detailed, and consistent scientific consultations.
Lennox Notes works with experienced researchers, laboratories, students, educators, policy-makers, and journalists.
We offer a range of services, including English-language and scientific editing, manuscript preparation and formatting, and presentation review and coaching (please see our Services page for full details).
We believe that scientific research, scientific literacy, and science education are essential to the well-being and advancement of society. At the same time, a critical external perspective can strengthen your work by offering fresh insights and identifying issues that may otherwise go unnoticed. Before submitting your work for review by a journal, supervisor, or the wider public, Lennox Notes can provide careful editing and consultation to help ensure your work is clear, accurate, and impactful.
Small-scale one-on-one working relationships.
We believe that one-to-one, direct working relationships are the most effective way to deliver our services, minimise client frustration, and ensure that each client’s specific needs and expectations are fully met. You will always be able to communicate directly with the editor or consultant working on your project to discuss your objectives, ask questions, and review the outcomes of your edit or consultation.
A focus on the natural sciences.
Our scientific training and the majority of our editing and publishing experience are rooted in the natural sciences, including plant, ecology, climate, and earth sciences. While we also have experience in medical writing, this field is already well-served by many of the large-scale editing companies. In contrast, throughout our time in academic publishing, we have consistently observed that there is a lack of editing companies specializing in the natural sciences.
Lennox Notes helps to fill this service gap. Our goal is to provide focused, discipline-aware editing that reflects the complexity of your research and gives your work the specialised attention it deserves.
Not an AI and no AI communications.
AI has transformed academic writing, increasing the ease and rapidity of publishing; however, it has also introduced significant challenges. While AI tools can assist with drafting, they often misinterpret scientific nuance, erase authorial voice, and cannot reliably evaluate the accuracy or relevance of current research. Despite this, many large editing services now depend heavily on AI-based systems, leaving researchers with generic feedback and manuscripts containing avoidable errors.
At Lennox Notes, your work is reviewed by real experts, not algorithms. We provide detailed, personalised feedback and rigorous editing carried out by experienced editors and consultants.
Limitations.
Lennox Notes is a small organization, and consequently, availability can be limited. With forward planning, however, we aim to accommodate most projects while maintaining the highest standards. Our pricing reflects the expertise of the highly skilled professionals who carry out our work—we do not simply pass documents through an AI. We believe the quality, reliability, and personalized attention we provide make us an excellent value.
